Graham Smith started his coaching career as a professional figure skating coach, which he pursued for eight years. For the following twenty-four years, Graham coached all levels of Minor Hockey within the Strathcona Minor Hockey Association. Some of his coaching achievements are as follows:

  • 15 Zone Championships
  • 6 Provincial Championships
  • 41 Players drafted to Western Hockey League (WHL) Teams
  • 15 Players drafted in the first round of the WHL
  • 13 Players drafted to the National Hockey Leagues (NHL)
  • 2 Players drafted to the NHL in the first round

Nathan Smith played 4 years in the WHL with Swift Current where he was drafted in the first round. Nathan played 8 years in the NHL, he was drafted in the first round by Vancouver. During his NHL career, he played for Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets, Pittsburg Penguins, Minnesota Wild. In the AHL he played for Wilkesbarre Scranton.
